Copyediting | Without A Man

From 1946 to 1947, Katharine Van Etten Lyford and Joan Rothwell motored down the Pan American Highway in a 1937 Ford Coupe, which they affectionately called Junior. While exploring South America with Rothwell, Lyford documented their journey for The Christian Science Monitor through the serial publication of "Junior's Girls." Upon returning to the United States, Lyford transformed "Junior's Girls" into Without A Man. Lyford submitted the five-hundred page manuscript to Chilton Books for publication. On February 21, 1963, the publishing housing rejected Without A Man.

Dr. Jonathan Hagood is seeking students interested in copyediting, creative writing, and digital publishing to assist in transforming Without A Man from a traditional travel narrative into an enhanced digital Ebook. Contact Dr. Hagood for additional information.
